America is anxiously awaiting the official results of this latest midterm election. There is one thing we know for sure. Elections in the USA have become much more caustic in recent years.
Most importantly, what will the results of this midterm election mean to us preppers? What kind of America are we inheriting and how should we prepare for it.
Greater Surveillance
We have reached a dangerous point with surveillance. It has basically come to life. The surveilling of everything the American people do is an unstoppable force. Whether done through your phone, television, Alexa, Smart TV, Ring, Satellites, or other means we are not even aware of, it’s happening.

The divisive nature of a two-party system has given way to new boogeymen like militant violent extremists and political terrorists here within the nation’s borders.
A document was leaked within the FBI showing domestic right-wing terrorist markers, signs, and symbols. These included the Gadsden Flag, the Punisher skull, the Betsy Ross Flag and other American History insignia from the revolution.
We have to surveil these people and make sure they do not do anything crazy like shoot fireworks off on the 4th of July. Surveillance on everyday Americans will only increase following the midterm election.
Greater “Safety” Through Government
From monitoring disinformation to imposing health and safety restrictions, the midterm election results will no doubt create a climate in this nation that requires more safety through government.
This will come at a cost, of course. It will mean the growth of government and thanks to greater surveillance your actions as a prepper will be watched with a sharp eye.
The idea of becoming a prepper is growing. There was a 60 minute piece on it just days ago and then there was a Bloomberg piece about the Next Generation of climate change preppers. This idea of self-reliance and independence is not going away.
In the wake of the midterm elections, we are going to see a further push towards tyrannical and oppressive behavior in the nation. It is not enough for the American people to course correct on our own. Instead, the government will use its power to destroy oil and coal production. It will take aim at the agricultural industry, and all of this will hopefully inspire you to keep prepping!
Fuel Shortage
The results of the midterm elections have assured us that we have virtually no answer to the fuel shortage that is affecting many nations on our planet. America has a lot of oil flowing under our feet.

Instead, you need to buckle up and expect higher prices at the pump, high prices to heat your home, and nations abroad to suffer worst of all.
You should have several alternative ways to heat your home. People will be cold this year and some people will die from carbon monoxide poisoning trying to heat their human anyway that they can. Be prepared.
Food Shortages
Another problem that has not and will not be addressed despite the outcome of the midterms. Fuel and food are inextricably tied so as the price and availability of food and fuel go up so will the cost of food.

Unfortunately, we may also see a serious drop in production of food brought to market. This is because the cost of farming is already very high, and some farmers have let fields go fallow in the face of things like rising costs and droughts.
The more food that you can produce at home the better! Food storage is always a good thing to have, too. I would recommend 6 months’ worth of food storage at a minimum. I used to recommend 3 months but times they are a changing!
Higher And Higher Prices
The midterm election results will have preppers racing further towards self-reliance.
We have all been watching the beginnings of this economic collapse.
Hopefully you have been taking action to shield yourself and your family.
The long in short of it is that you cannot adjust interest rates or employ enough demand destruction to deal with a 30 trillion dollar debt.

What that means is that your dollar is going to be worth less. Maybe not quite worthless but definitely worth less. The money you have now has more buying power then it will in 3 months.
Transferring paper dollars or fiat wealth into gold, silver, or even Goldbacks, will give you more stability. You should also consider buying things that will truly add value in this new world. These are things like food, medical supplies, skills, tools, barter items and raw land.
If you have been wanting to start that blacksmithing setup, well, now is the time!
Civil Unrest
The American people put so much energy into the outcome of elections that this election will undoubtedly end in civil unrest of one kind or another.
Most people are content with idea that America is on a collision course with Civil War.
We have seen violent politically oriented groups on both sides of the political spectrum in action. They exist. These groups will grow their ranks as long as tough times, high prices, and discontent are in the streets of this nation.
The media manipulation doesn’t help things either.
No matter how you slice it, if you are in a densely populated area then you need to be prepared to deal with civil unrest. This means keeping your finger on the pulse of what is happening in your area. Protests can quickly become violent.
You should also put together a plan to respond to people who might come walking down your street with intent to do harm to your property. I recommend paintball guns loaded with pepper balls.
For the prepper who is truly seeking to be self-reliant and independent, the results of this midterm election are going to have very little bearing. In fact, no matter who winds up in power, you should be seeking the ability to survive and thrive outside of that system as possible.
It’s hard to ignore some things like government supported censorship and the targeting of certain groups. Still, we have to start thinking bigger. It is a time to establish alternative means of commerce, agriculture, security, and virtually anything that you hold dear.

Not sure what your first sentence says, but sounds like you believe everything is predetermined and your choices don’t matter. If so, I am sorry you think so. You can make a positive difference if you choose, rather than sitting around watching others create problems.

Fortunately, as far as acting out irrationally is concerned, it seems sanity is prevailing despite some people’s disappointment in the election outcome. Human-created disaster is always avoidable, and statements like “the government will use its power to destroy oil and coal production” are not only skewed partial truths, but quite inflammatory and irresponsible. We have to work together or we doom our own selves. If we just spew conspiratorial nonsense, and don’t listen to each other, we continue to allow our nation to fracture, and our enemies rejoice, both political and spiritual. Great post. Here is what I don’t understand. People want to fight against rational thought these days. Some are so rooted in their thiking that no matter what is said they never research any of it.
I got to where I am because I don’t like the lies coming out of the media. I was seeing things said and I would go look it up. I would rather a friend, family member or even someone I don’t know tell me a truth that I can see. I just don’t get why people get so angry and want to believe something else without trying out the truth you told. Do you really want to believe lies? Insane. Just go get that bull ring put in your nose and be led around the pasture. I also ended up changing my news station one day for a different perspective and Wow, they actually showed both sides instead of just the one. That was my real eye opener.
The View host, Sunny Hostin, just decided to spit out that republicans are going to change the voting age to 28. Complete lie and they do it all of the time.
Not only are they loving it, they are bankrolling it on both sides…and loving that too.
Paintball guns with pepper balls? SERIOUSLY? Those are used when we try to arrest someone without hurting them. Do you really think the people you are talking about will give a crap or “surrender” to a few pepper balls? In training I have been hit with the spray and the balls and it’s uncomfortable. BUT I could still kill you if I want to. Maybe not right that second but in short order. That’s why we cuff them RIGHT AFTER being peppered. I’m becoming disheartened by election results. I know that’s the wrong attitude to take, but it’s tough to avoid it when you see recounts that end up flipping the results by ONE VOTE! That’s not an unusual occurrance, it’s the deep state/Democrats rubbing it in our faces! You know we cheated, we know we cheated, and there’s nothing you can do about it! And also strangely, the recounts of 2 election recounts both ended up flipping exactly the same # of votes, 22, to the other side! The actual chance of that really happening is astronomical! The chance that it was cheating is pretty good. Kari Lake one was rigged too! All the outstanding results came in from 70-75% Republican voter areas and historically Republicans tend to vote in the evening, after the typical workday ends. That was a Republican slam-dunk and everybody knew it, including the biggest names in the polling industry. The Democrats are cheating. Widespread. The fix is in boys! And girls.
Your vote doesn’t make any difference
The “elites” don’t have to worry or even think about the cost of energy, food or gas, because they have enough funds to deal with it. Kinda like a fly landing on an elephant. They don’t even notice. Harkens back to the days of royalty, they lived as they did and didn’t care or think about anyone who in their mind is BENIETH them.
As far as energy goes. I’m not against solar or wind, both of which are feasible ideas as support our present system. But only AFTER the infrastructure is ready. I’m going to replace the windows in my house. But I’m NOT going to remove and destroy all my old windows, before the new ones are even designed, let alone built. Even though that is the present political policy thinking. THEY ONLY THINK ABOUT, THEIR POWER & THEIR MONEY. Screw everybody else.
Solar and wind cannot replace oil, coal, hydro in the next 3 generations. It is a pipe dream.
35 years an electrician here. I built those systems. Apple clear cut a forest to put up solar in either Virginia or the Carolinas, don’t remember which. A friend of mine worked that project. Not quite sure how this is responsible. We have a power grid that cannot handle EVs in mass quantities.

I am an electronic technician. I have calculated some and nothing about this new electric cars and charging add up. The present electrical grid barely can supply the present needs if you add several million electric cars to it, take away the coal, gas and hydro (hydro because of climate change not enough rain etc) then the grid is down and not coming back up). The solar, wind and nuclear power alone will not supply this countries needs.
IF THE WHOLE US GRID GOES DOWN it will most likely not come back up. Why do I say this? Becasue we have no backup main substaions. I read a report from an ex homeland higher up that stated “If a main power station goes bad it will take up to a year to replace it due to it having been supplied by China. China has none built and ready.”. So what do you think will happen if an overlaod burns out a couple of these substations?

While we are prepping for the end of the world, we forget to defend the great nation we live in. The politicians in DC run this land, make decisions without the vote of the people and, elections? Who’s counting? Arizona elections were controlled by one of the elective parties. How did this happen? WE THE PEOPLE have forgotten The Constitution. We forgot who controls the government (our employees). If WE THE PEOPLE enact The Constitution and Bill of Rights, WE THE PEOPLE will empty house in Washington DC. We can not control our government and country unless we learn The Constitution, speak The Constitution and teach The Constitution to our children. I carry several copies of The Constitution and share them with less educated persons. WE THE PEOPLE will take our country back but, only if WE know the law of the land!
My concern is that farmers don’t/won’t have incentive to plant because it doesn’t make economic sense. See revelations 18:11 onwards. Don’t think it made sense, but empty shelves don’t lie
