Depression!

Depression!

Depression!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In October 2021 prices went through the roof, with an unprecedented jump not seen in decades. Actually, what happened was that we had the biggest inflation boom in the last 30 years (Source)! Some may think that this is just a temporary trend, a fluctuation in the economic cycle. I say we should learn from not so far-off events and take a closer look at what is really happening.

In a span of a few months, the prices of everything went up: Lumber and plywood were three to four times higher in some places, sheet metal and copper about three times, rental cars 42.9%, gas 42.1%, used cars 24.4%, hotels, 18%—TVs, furniture, meats, poultry, fish, eggs, new cars, appliances, electricity, restaurant prices, rent, etc. If you compare today’s prices with those of a few months ago, you will see for yourself the crippling inflation we are facing.

What most people don’t understand is that the prices will NEVER go back. Even if the price of gas drops by half, do you think Shell or Exxon will lower their prices by half?

Our day-to-day expenses mostly include food, housing, gasoline, utilities, and other necessities. If in October the prices for all these necessities had an unprecedented jump when considering the last 30 years, things will just keep getting worse. Economists found that the November consumer price index rose by 6.8% over the past year. This means Americans’ cost of living saw the largest inflation boom in the last 40 years! You didn’t pay more just for food or bills; you paid more for EVERYTHING.

When EVERYTHING suddenly costs more, it means only one thing: not that the goods are more valuable but that the money is losing its value.

During the lockdown, the government helped workers and companies by giving them money to adapt to the new restrictions. Money they did not have! The Federal Reserve is printing money at an unprecedented rate! No wonder we are seeing this kind of inflation!

To make matters worse, a lot, if not most, of this money is not even going to people who need it. Congress approved a $600 boost to weekly unemployment payments, which actually gave some people more money than they made while working before the pandemic (Source)! The same goes for companies. If you throw away money like this, what can you expect except inflation?

As a longtime Federal Reserve critic and a former presidential candidate puts it, “What we’re working with now is fake money, a fake measuring rod” (Source).

If you are like most Americans, you might think that this unprecedented inflation we are facing right now will not affect you that much and will soon go away.

But unfortunately, this kind of galloping inflation is nothing more than an alarm bell for the depression we might be seeing in 2022. I think we are on the edge of a recession right now.

I know it sounds crazy, but what if this is the last Christmas you can afford to provide enough food for your family?

Nouriel Roubini, the same economist who accurately anticipated the 2008 financial collapse, is warning us about an upcoming ECONOMIC DISASTER. Based on this year’s evolution, Roubini is telling us that the current situation could degenerate into a powerful crisis never seen before in America.

This is definitely something to worry about, so how can you get prepared for it?

Considering all these signs that may indicate a crisis ahead, and with just how expensive food has become lately, it’s natural for you to wonder if one day you will still be able to put enough food on the table for you and your family. This is why we are writing about all these things that are happening right now—so you can have enough time to prepare.

On this website, you’ll find a lot of good articles and valuable teachings in the comments on how to prepare for an economic collapse. There is also a physical guide created especially for identifying and preparing the edible plants we pass by every day. It could be a priceless resource for when the SHTF. You can check it out yourself here. There is another guide with a series of forgotten long-lasting foods you can add to your stockpile. If you want to share your thoughts on the current economic situation and how you think things will go from here, please let us know in the comments. We could all use some good advice or a new perspective.

Plan should always first be looking to God and following His lead. Only He knows what is coming your way and when and how you should prepare, and He will help as no man ever could. If He leads you to the mountains, go. If He leads you to go off grid and raise ducks, do it. If He leads you to stay put, stay.

This should hardly be a big news flash to anyone logging in here. This has been talked about for the past two years at least, on this site and others.
However, Adapt 2030 on YouTube had a good post on the subject recently for anyone who wants to be brought up to speed. Ice Age Farmer has had some good posts about it too.
As far as being ready for a major recession/depression, isn’t that why we’re here? Why we prep?
Grow what you can, stock up on what you can afford to buy now if you haven’t already been doing so. Buy non food items as well – inflation and shortages are going to affect every consumer product.
This is going to be a multi year event, according to the research I’ve done.
Buckle up… we’re in for a bumpy flight!

People keep talking about printing presses running. THAT IS TOTALLY WRONG! ! !

As a former printing company owner , I can state authoritatively that government printing equipment printing thousand dollar bills would take years to print one trillion dollars , let alone 7 trillion.

The dollars the government is “spending” are only zeros and ones in some computer somewhere in the federal “reserve” system. What a humongous joke that is federal “reserve”? ? ?

If you believe in the federal”reserve” I suppose you also believe in the Easter bunny, Santa Claus and the tooth fairy.

The only question in my mind is how much worse will things be than they were in the Weimar Republic?

I think it is another government twisting of word meanings to call hyper inflation depression unless you are describing the state of mental health of folk who are caught in the grasp of worthless money. Money that isn’t even backed by paper. There isn’t a trillion dollars of paper money in circulation. If just plain citizens, not companies with perhaps millions in their cash reserves to cover their monthly cash flow, but folks who are actually working for a living went down to their local branch to take out their checking and savings account balances, there isn’t enough paper anywhere to cover that sum.

Yes, stockpile food. Be sure it is food you eat and will last. Add sturdy shoes and socks. If you don’t like going commando, stockpile underwear. Those holey jeans that are so stylish — forgeddabout them. Sturdy jeans and shirts will be “in style” as opposed to light weight already mechanically worn out clothing.

Starbucks will dry up and blow away. Nobody is going to par their over-inflated prices for a product that should cost less than half what they charge.

There are times when I am glad that I am old and lived through what I consider to have been the golden years of the U.S. experience in republicanism. Not democracy. We were never a democracy. That is a leftist lie. We have always been a democratic republic. Major difference.

God rest ye merry, gentlemen and ladies! Seriously pray with as pure a heart as you can muster to whatever Deity you worship that 2022 will see an end to the insanity that is griping those who are charged with leading us.

Pray for leaders who will say “7 TRILLION DOLLARS ?” “Were you all high on drugs? Were you all spaced out in the upper limits of your manic high? Scrap that legislation in its entirety. Let’s get back to reality.”

It’s not too late to recover but the present course must be reversed.

Jorvik Christmas to all and much better New Year.

Everything is cyclic. There have been recessions and depressions before, and it appears they are causal by two effects (affects), most often governmental and less often natural disaster. Seems like the ‘perfect storm’ here; a greedy corrupt government(s) and climate change (changing radically).
First off, “non of us are getting outta this alive”.
Be prepared as much as you want / can; however, the last depression started in 1929 and lasted until the late 1930s (is the official statement); though it really lasted until AFTER WW2. It took a world war to help end the last depression (and the one before that; WW1).
A world war, in this day and age, will be much more catastrophic than the last one(s). The enormous gains on how to kill humans quicker and more efficiently has increased immensely sinceWW1 and then, again in WW2.
Interesting that the ONLY thing humans have learned in well over 5000 years is how they can kill each other better. It is a fact that the survival skills 5000 years ago were much better understood and even innate, than they are today.
In conclusion; do what all you want / will to ‘save’ yourself; however, no matter which way you look at it “non of us are getting outta this alive”!

The last great depression was the Carter depression. Look back to the Weimar Republic Party, Germany, 1920s. They did a lot we see the dnc doing to set things up for Hitler. Massive illegal immigration, money going bad, anything goes government, welfare for anyone who asks, a very strong admiration of muslim terrorists. 1930s, Joe Kennedy read Mein Kampf and became a Nazi. A lot of wealthy dems did. Kennedy lived and died hoping we would become a nazi nation.

FDR set things up for what we see today. He was so admiring of hitler, he sent hitler little gifts, like boatloads of Jewish refugees. Post war, Truman, a klansman, allowed in hundreds of nazis, many of who should have been arrested for war crimes. The only dem to fight against inflation was JFK, and they killed him.

    Cannot argue with that thought.

People seem to forget we all are born to die. It’s what we DO between those moments that counts.

Or as Braveheart quote goes “All Men Die BUT not All Men truly LIVE”.

You’re NOT Preparing for YOU TO LIVE FOREVER, Not going to happen, eh?

It’s your Family and their children you are preparing for. Those that will carry on hopefully remembering you for your honorable efforts to prepare for Chaos and Disaster.

PanFanWar is coming. Pandemic (not a minor low lethality bioweapon from Dr. Faci) Famine as in years of food shortages with the current shortages of natural gas for FERTILIZER and Food Plastic Wrapping (Thanks to the Sock Puppet’s HANDLERS) AND WAR.

The 7 years of fat happy cows is gone, now the 7 years of starving cattle is before us. If you don’t grow your own you’re praying somebody ELSE will do so and be KIND enough to let you eat.

Gloria, a depression as a mood or depression as in GREAT DEPRESSION and starvation and homelessness?

Both *Might* be better with a relationship with your Creator. The Great Depression version, which is what the Author was discussing (aside from being an AD for their book) generally involves a lot of suffering and struggling.

So please expand on your question 🙂

Gloria: My original thought upon seeing the headline for the article was an article addressing a very common and often overlooked mental condition which all too frequently leads to self-destruction.

In an EOTW situation, depression and the resulting self-destruction will be an all too common condition. I surely am not in any position to write a treatise on handling depression and suicidal thoughts in a post end of the world situation. My standard reply is hardly appropriate, It is the reply of a Marine NCO to a bemoaning subordinate, “Suck it up, buttercup,” and hardly is appropriate, I think, in such a drastic, gut-wrenching existence.

For the past four years, I’ve sent a Christmas Card with a note to the Whitehouse. I wanted to thank President Trump personally for being able to unabashedly say “Merry Christmas” again. This year, I did not sent a card to The Whitehouse. Instead, I sent a card with a note to Senator Joseph Manchin, thanking him for refusing to back Biden’s socialist build back better plan which would only make the current situation were in all worse! It was a most timely gift!

What a great idea! I am afraid if I sent a card to the White House it would get me on the FBI’s watch list. I would most likely get a blacked out van parked down the block from my house. I would hear strange clicking noises on my phone and the flaps on my mail would all be open when the mail was delivered. Packages delivered by common carrier would all be re-taped over the ripped open lower layer of tape marked with the vendor’s logo. Everything would suddenly take longer to arrive and I might find my bank account had unusual delays in money transfers.

For all those reasons, I eschewed sending greetings to the White House this year. I prefer to remain in my semi-grey status.

Sending a note to Mancin is pure genius. I have to get busy to look up his address. I would recommend that course of action fo all the readers of this list. It takes a great amount of bravery for a politician to stand up to his party, especially when the head of the party is also El Presidente of this banana republic. Perhaps that is an inaccurate sobriquet. Perhaps brie and chardonnay peoples; demonokracy is more appropriate..

      Big Tee:
Try not to get into a negative mindset. Others survived the Great Depression, world wars, “police actions”, civil war, coups and natural disasters. You can, and will, survive whatever the future holds.

Try breaking it down into components, and address each one separately so you don’t get overwhelmed. If things get really bad, focus on what you need to get through that day.

It helps to talk to others, too. Why, specifically, do you feel that you won’t survive a depression? What are your particular areas of concern?

We’re all here to help each other. Well, most of us, anyway. Let the trolls troll on and ignore any ignorant posts they might put up, and concentrate on the ones that have good advice.

Hope to hear from you soon, and try not to worry.

I like the article. Yes, we’ve all been talking about this for years. Me, since my stepmother, an Austrian, and 2 German aunts all pointed out the dnc is America’s nazi party. We are in the middle of the American Weimar Party tricks. This depression is the worse one they have caused, yes, but look at illegal immigration, and how Germany was flooded with illegals. Look at the welfare state, how much the dnc loves and admired terrorism. Compared to what we faced in Afghanistan and Iraq, antifa nazis and their houseboy BLM are punks. To see what’s next read up on the WRP. the dems never do anything unless hitler approved it.

I agree that many people are getting depressed because of the financial difficulties that have arisen during the pandemic. I understand you because I often have such psychological difficulties. But I don’t think we should give up. And we need to look for ways to deal with anxiety disorders. You can try some psychological tests at https://us.calmerry.com/tests/ or sign up for a psychological consultation with a professional psychotherapist. Perhaps this will help you. In any case, you need to look for a way out and not be left alone with your problems.

Personality refers to your unique way of thinking, feeling, and acting. Because of stress, your once pleasant personality can become irksome.

You may find yourself constantly feeling angry, aggressive, and frustrated. And yes, don’t be surprised if your loved ones begin to brand you as irritable and hostile.

Since stress is the main reason why you’re being unpleasant, the first thing you need to do is address it.

Take a break from the things or activities that stress you out. Reach out to your family and friends. Explore nature.

It will also help to use stress management tools like squeeze toys. Take it out on them instead of the people around you! Make sure to keep one near you, so you can get immediate relief whenever you feel overwhelmed.

Absolutely agree with you. Stress can be common and many people don’t pay proper attention to it. But if you don’t do something about it, it can lead to problems like stress in the future. I can recommend trying cbd gummies products for anxiety and stress, check this link. This brand offers really cool cbd products.
