It’s no secret that life in the United States of America has changed in the past several decades.
If we were to look back at life in the 1970s, 80s, or even 90s, we would see a much different country than we do in the twenty-first century.
Of course, we could debate whether these changes are part of a hidden agenda or the natural course that a nation takes after two and a half centuries.
What is certain is that the times are changing.
Erosion Of Civil Liberties
Since the attacks on 9/11, Americans have seen their civil liberties gradually chipped away through several avenues.
The most prominent was the Patriot Act which the government at the time sold to the public as the best option to keep them safe.
Unfortunately, the act led to mass surveillance, increased surveillance powers, and enhanced information sharing between agencies.

Although the government would use these powers against terrorists, the wide-ranging powers also had average citizens in the crosshairs.
It is impossible to be free when any number of shadowy intelligence agencies are constantly surveilling you. Even though most of us have nothing to hide, that does not mean laws will change in the future and result in the intelligence gathered being used against us.
There is a degradation of some fundamental rights that the public should enjoy. For example, freedom of speech has been challenged recently, most notably through online censorship. Social media companies are under tremendous pressure to censor posts that the current government deems inappropriate.
Along with this is the self-censorship that many people exercise to avoid running afoul of internet mobs and becoming ‘cancelled.’
Journalistic freedom has also been under fire with government surveillance of journalists and limits to the level of access that the press is afforded. Freedom of the press is so universally crucial to a free society, and seeing the press being muzzled is very disturbing.
Economic Inequality And The Destruction Of The Middle Class
It is often said ‘that the rich get richer while the poor get poorer,’ and anyone trying to raise a family in America knows how true this statement is. Inflation has dramatically increased, but wages have remained stagnant.

Jobs have also steadily been shipped overseas, where labor is cheaper, leaving many occupations almost extinct. This exodus of jobs also pushes against small businesses which are trying to manufacture products within the United States.
As they try to compete with lower-cost products manufactured offshore, they struggle to turn any profit or employ workers at a livable wage.
The United States has the highest number of billionaires in the world. As they get richer, everyone else struggles to ensure they can obtain life’s necessities.
The wealth these billionaires enjoy is always built on the back of the employees struggling to make ends meet and haven’t seen a wage increase in years. The gap between the rich and the poor is massive and getting wider by the day.
The result of a widening wage gap is that the middle class becomes smaller to the point where one day soon, it will cease to exist.
Another factor in the wage gap is the reduction in labor unions. Labor unions give workers bargaining power for wages, working conditions, and benefits.
Unfortunately, many large corporations actively discourage union membership or use underhanded measures to remove union membership from their companies.
A Divided Nation
America is not unlike other countries. Throughout the world, nations have defined cultural or political divisions which separate their citizens.
With the two-party political system that the United States has, the political divide is stark, leaving people feeling that they must align themselves with either side.
While the parties are Democrat and Republican, people often use the terms Liberal or Conservative instead of the party names to let others know which side they are on.
One of the major issues is that people are uncomfortable occupying a middle ground between the two political wings.
If someone identifies as liberal, they do not want to voice any conservative ideals because they fear being ostracized. The same is true for conservatives who have some liberal ideals.
This polarization causes people to stick with one end of the spectrum or the other, which only serves to widen the divide between the two sides.
The division doesn’t stop at politics; there are definite and unfortunate divisions along race, gender, or ideology.
In many ways, America is also divided geographically, with certain regions being perceived to have specific political or cultural affiliations which clash with those of other areas. All these divisions have been weaponized and made worse by news media, social media companies, and the government.

One of the most effective ways that people are kept divided is to keep all the information being presented to them aligned with their worldview. These are commonly referred to as ‘echo chambers’ and only serve to reinforce their prejudices.
Using Poverty As A Weapon
Those at the bottom rungs of the economic ladders are often used as pawns in political games or as weapons to achieve specific objectives.
It is not difficult to convince a population that relies on the social assistance that the government provides to either vote along that party’s lines or to support initiatives that claim to benefit people experiencing poverty, but only serve to increase the tax burden on the shrinking middle class.
The poorest members of society are also more likely to be roused into rioting or participating in mass protests that will inspire programs, laws, or ideas that will continue to tax the middle class into oblivion while promoting the agendas of the government or other entities.
The assault on the average American is not limited to one political party or the other. It is a systematic agenda to turn the population docile and frightened.
From social media companies to mega-corporations run by billionaires, there is a near-constant barrage with the aim of keeping you poor, ill-informed, and ultimately unprepared.
Fortunately, the best weapon against this is simply staying vigilant and ensuring you are prepared when everything comes crashing down.

If the Constitution were to be followed, there would be no aisle with R’s on one side and “D’s” on the other. There would be 435 adults of equal rank, answering to no one except the districts that elected them. There would be 100 of equal rank answering to no one but the states that elected them. A Speaker would be selected to preside over the House and the Vice-president would preside over the Senate. Division of government into R’s and D’s is not constitutionally based. I agree, little interpretation is needed.
What is ideal, and what is practical was a constant concern of our founding fathers. We tried on the Articles of Confederation…and had some serious problems that affected many states, but no mechanism to deal with it as a while nation effectively. So out trotted federalism under a Constitutional republic, democratically elected, representative democracy. They knew it was a dangerous self serving beast with lots of teeth, that needed supervision, fences, and a leash to pull it back when it goes too far. States knew too, and that is why the Bill of Rights was added…and a means by which we could dismantle it all if necessary. Never before in the history of the world did a government form with the governed maintaining a right to destroy it! That was pretty RADICAL!
So, if that seems “extremist” it was once an ultra-liberal ideal. Ironically, it is now viewed as an ultra-conservative view. The Democratic Party was founded on the very idea of secession and anti-Federalism, invoking States Rights, in favor of maintaining their economic system and property “rights” tied to enslaving non white people for their own benefit. They cannot own that though.
What was liberal is now called conservative and what was conservative is now liberal. That point is missed by most people. The Republican Party did not even exist until just before the civil war.

Illegals often DO pay taxes now, directly from payrolls and sales/use taxes living here, working here. Many work and report under SSNs that are not their own, or file under an ITIN. Many of these persons DO SEEK Perm Residency status and citizenship and to do so, they will have to show they stayed out if criminal troubles and paid their taxes. The IRS in Austin TX handles the ITIN/SSN record consolidation for these taxpayers when they attain legal status.
Some “illegals” are here strictly for economic reasons to work and send money to their families. Period. They don’t intend to stay long term. We would actually be better off helping those people come here to work, identify them, let them in without having to deal with trafficking cartels. In fairness to your comment, yes, there are tough, “dirty jobs” that have shortages that are always needing laborers— that are not completely filled by American citizens, and probably never will be. Part of that is unwillingness by some Americans to do those jobs! Scrubbing toliets and mopping floors, washing dishes…hey, it isn’t glamorous or great pay…but it is honest work. So, I believe immigration reform should involve a Guest Worker Program, and a path to Permanent Residency and citizenship also, if that is desired, too.
But I think this business of 1B visas for skilled labor needs to be severely limited. It is time for companies to grow their own talent again, instead of shopping overseas, and work with community colleges to train Americans in SKILLS for jobs—jobs that must stay HERE.

When millions of Americans say enough is enough they walk off the job. In order to keep current employees and hire new ones the company’s must give pay raises and treat employees with a little respect.
I will use a $1 bill in increments of 10 as an example to explain this. The people at the top of these companies are not about to take a pay cut. So now they tell the public that they must raise the price of their products by 10 cents. Now your $1.00 has become 90 cents. Inflation has gone up 10%. Now people are expecting the prices to increase because of higher pay raises. But, the greedy m**frs at the top now see a way to increase their profits by tacking on another 10 cents. now your $1.00 is worth 80 cents and you have 20% inflation.
Now the politicians (with orders from their corporate sponsors) come in. They cry out that the rise in inflation is because of big government spending to much (both sides do it). The next step is to loosen the tax laws for their sponsors (so they can have more profit). They deserve it because they are creating jobs (without workers those companies would go belly up). Then some politicians say that these corporations are not paying their fare share in taxes and it is called class warfare and it is evil because it will make this country communist.

You are all making me so very sad right now… Dems & Republicans, blue and red, liberals and conservatives all are contributing ( right here)to a problem that you are obviously missing. Big Government and Foreign Entities want you divided. They want you to argue and blame and spit hateful words at each other, and all I can see is you doing this. Much if what has been said, I agree with. I admit that. But i disagree with the name calling and the hate speech, from both directions. I fight for this country and the the way back to the great country that it once was. When it wasn’t necessary to lock your doors or make your kids play in the house, when people didn’t have to choose between medicine or rent and food, when the news was not propaganda and lies, when your neighbors were you friends and you helped and shared with each other. I fight for a country of promises made and kept, of knowing when you voted for a candidate it mattered, of not being taxed for things that don’t benefit anyone in the country and for a country that the world respected not laughed at. But we cannot go back in time and change things back to the way they were. We have no choice but to go forward. Our choice is in how we do it…United or divided. We all have different views, jobs, religions, ideologies, skin colors, etc. If we let those things matter more than being humans, the loving, understanding, forgiving humans God placed on this earth, Yes I said God, it’s not a bad word, what will be left for our children? For our grandchildren and beyond? Is this the legacy and history you want to leave? I don’t! I agree to disagree with people, I do my own research and make an effort to weed out the truth to the best of my abilities and I don’t share information with people who don’t want to hear it. Learn to walk away, learn to scroll/stroll on by. But stand for what you believe, there is nothing wrong with that until the truth in all of its glory and ugliness changes your mind. Unions are the ruination of America. They try to hold the companies hostage for more money and benefits. So the companies are forced to raise prices to pay for those extravagancies. Then it starts all over again with unions wanting more and more. It’s ridiculous when an electrician has to he called to close a light switch. I worked for a company that was union and even though I benefited from it, I saw the evil in it. I agreed to work for a certain wage and if I wasn’t satisfied I had the option to go elsewhere.

The US Constitution contains no provision for the division of government along political party lines. We do not have a parliamentary form of government. We are a representative-based republic. The original idea was that, in these modern times, there would be up to 435 diverse opinions representing the people and up to 100 diverse opinions representing the interests of the states. There was “faith” that mature adults could work through diverse opinions and occasionally make middle-ground decisions, moderated by the large number of differences. Despite warnings from the founding fathers, the people chose to follow political parties which can easily be manipulated by special interests to offer only two opinions or choices, neither of which challenges the special interests. “They” don’t give a hoot which one we pick as long as we don’t poop in their playground. If you think the Creator is watching your pick of an “R” or a “D” and judging accordingly, remember that the same Creator sees “I” and also a “write-in” of names that represent the values you hold dear. Choosing the lesser of two evils, is still an evil choice.

The original concept of America was eroded away in the 20th century, political scandals, being the world’s police. We eventual got sloppy in faith and became political zealots.
A lot of this is utter lefty garbage. The billionaires are making their money in real estate, tech and investing, not on running companies that “don’t pay a livable wage”. If you think folks working in tech in this country aren’t earning a livable wage you’ve got your head in the sand.
Sadly, unskilled laborers are never going to get paid a wage in which they can support a family. That’s been gone for decades. There is no reason to remain unskilled in the world of information on demand.

The living wage is BS, the low wage job is to get experience. So you, we, I can move up to a higher paying job or start a business.
