Martial law could have the purpose of subduing a population as its most basic intent. This can result in a lot of stress. Maybe you need to take up yoga, or read your Bible and pray a lot. However you feel you can best manage your stress, I highly recommend that you do something to keep your mind calm, focus on solutions, and avoid getting caught up in fear and anxiety.

Examples from history confirm that martial law never goes down well with the local population. People are not used to being threatened and forced to comply.
